About Your Dentist – Meet Dr. Srinivasan
Dr. Jayashree Srinivasan
After spending the first decade of her life in Cambridge, OH, Dr. Jayashree Srinivasan moved to Auburn, AL. She grew up watching Auburn football and playing tennis. She loved Auburn so much, she decided to stay there for college. Jayashree received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University in 2007 and her Master of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University in 2009. Determined for success, she went on to obtain her dentist degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2013 and completed her General Practice Residency at the University of Michigan Health System in June 2014.
Dr. Srinivasan decided to become a dentist after working as a surgical assistant with a local oral surgeon in Opelika, AL, who is the same surgeon who extracted her wisdom teeth. She had yet to land on a career path until she observed his passion for the field of dentistry. The hands-on experience confirmed her love for the practice of dentistry. Now, after 10 years in the dental field, she finds the impact that can be made on an individual, by giving them their smile back, to be incredibly satisfying. Jayashree feels that she can change a patient’s life and give them their self-confidence back.
She believes the doctor-patient relationship is the most important aspect of building trust with a patient. It is crucial to educate patients on the importance of good dental hygiene, as well as prevention and believes it is important to focus on both aesthetics and function in her dentistry.
Dr. Srinivasan is a member of the American Dental Association, the Eighth District Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She completes up to 20-40 hours of continuing dental education per year.
She enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, trips to the lake, working out, and watching Auburn football.
